You're Invited to Upgrade to a Premium Paid Subscription
WHILE NON-PAYING SUBSCRIBERS WILL CONTINUE TO RECEIVE AND BE ABLE TO READ OUR MONTHLY NEWSLETTER, WE'VE ADDED A RANGE OF PREMIUM SERVICES FOR PAID SUBSCRIBERS.
Beginning April 10, 2024, For Yacht Builders, Buyers, and Owners will officially launch an expanded range of sections and supplemental marine-related premium-subscription services. All of our present 15,000+ free-subscribers are invited to consider upgrading to the premium services available with our new paid subscriptions. However, be assured that, even if you choose not to upgrade, you will nevertheless continue to receive and be able to read our monthly newsletter postings.
We’ve opted to use this tiered subscription system because 1) we value you as a reader and subscriber, whether or not you are paying and 2) we believe that setting up the subscription system in this way, lets you determine for yourself how best to take advantage of what we offer on our online publishing hub and website.
Below, you will find a breakdown of what will be available to you as a standard (free) subscriber vs a premium (paid) subscriber vs a founding member (paid) subscriber. Until April 10, 2024, except for “special edition” articles upcoming, you’ll be able to continue sampling free the various sections on our website/hub, to get a feel for what each will deliver on an ongoing basis.
However, beginning April 10, 2024 here’s what will be available and included at each subscription tier level:
Access to our monthly newsletter articles at publication and for a month thereafter, until they are archived.
Open access to the a) Chat, b)Travel Forum, and c) Product Review sections.
Membership in our community of yachting and boating enthusiasts and industry professionals, including the ability to comment on posts and participate in the ongoing online discussions.
Everything that is included in a Standard Subscription plus:
Open access to “special edition” articles published at irregular intervals.
Open access to our DIY Forum and the ongoing exchanges there between boatbuilding and refit professionals and lay enthusiasts.
Open access to our Marine Master Classes section, where we will be hosting a variety of educational courses, podcasts, and interactive video classes, some of which will be free and some of which may require a modest (but significantly discounted) additional registration fee.
Open access to our full Archive section (including eventually several hundred articles by Phil Friedman, previously published on For Yacht Builders, Buyers, and Owners and elsewhere in the marine press).
This is the Premium Level subscription at a discounted price (12 months for the price of 10 (a 17% discount), when paid on an annual basis).
Everything included in both the Standard and Premium level subscriptions plus:
Open access to our Marine Business Blog & Forum section, where we will publish monthly insider articles on a broad range of topics concerning the recreational marine industry and marine small-business operations and management.
Access to our Sponsored-Content program for recreational marine sector professionals and marine small-businesses. The base Sponsored-Content program will include, at no additional charge, a 1/2-page fixed-format ad that will appear at least once per month in a bank of select advertisements appended to one or more feature articles. Participants in the base Sponsored-Content program will have the option of sponsoring, for an additional charge, purpose-written and -published articles that will be distributed to all our FYBBO subscribers via both our website and direct email, as well as across several of our other social media channels. Please note that if you choose not to upgrade to a paid subscription, you do not need to do anything. You will continue to receive and be able to read the regular monthly newsletter editions.
